Chik-Fil-A hosting Operation Christmas Child

Chik-Fil-A on Mooretown Road (near Home Depot) is facilitating Samaritan's Purse, Operation Christmas Child. Fill a shoebox (one of your own or pick one up at Chik-Fil-A) with age-appropriate items (boys or girls ages 2-12). Suggested items include school supplies, small toys, hard candy, and toiletries. Place a rubber band around the box and top and drop off your box on Tuesday, November 10 between 11-2 and 5-7. Once there, fill out small form indicating who your box is intended for (boy or girl and age range) and include a check for $7 in order to cover shipping costs, as these boxes will be shipped oversees to children in need. Lafayette HS Yard sale

The Lafayette High School PTSA is sponsoring a Community Yard Sale on Saturday, November 21, from 10:00am to 2:00pm, at the school.

The PTSA will do the organizing, advertising and allocation of slots in the student parking lot. The PTSA is selling space(s) to LHS groups, i.e. boosters, chorus, drama, sports team, etc., as well as to LHS families. In addition, PTSA is offering slots to community groups, non-profit groups, and even local businesses, including food vendors. All groups get to keep whatever monies they make from the yard sale, but are responsible for providing their own tables, canopies, cash boxes, etc. Of course, PTSA will have own "booth" with donations from members and the community. It promises to be a fun day, with the Upper Commons available for food, entertainment and rest rooms.

Volunteer Opportunity

A chapel family is in need of 20-25 female volunteers to “hang out” with a 19 year old who is still recovering from brain trauma caused by a near fatal auto accident.
